How to Resonate with the Enlightened Clean Beauty Consumer

Earth Day on April 22 is a great reminder that sustainability and clean beauty are here for the long run. According to Brand Essence, the global clean beauty market is estimated to grow from $5.44B in 2020 to $11.5B in 2027. That rapid growth is driven by shifts in consumer preferences, particularly of millennials and Gen Zs, for safe, sustainable, transparent, and high performance products. Demand for transparency and access to information is enabling consumers to determine whether brands are actually committed to their values or if they are “greenwashing,” the practice of using disingenuous environmentally friendly claims. As consumers grow wise about greenwashing, many organizations and non-profits are working to certify the aspects of a product lifecycle, including ingredient sourcing, to help establish consumers’ trust.

Aprinnova’s first episode of its Beauty Renaissance Series will help brand leaders respond to this mega trend during a discussion on ethical and sustainable supply chains. Neossance™ Squalane and Hemisqualane are derived from natural and sustainable Brazilian sugarcane which has been Bonsucro Certified. Hosted live on April 13 at 11 AM EST, episode 1 will present how the Bonsucro certification promotes sustainable sugarcane production, and the benefits brands receive when using Neossance ingredients derived from Bonsucro-certified sugarcane.

A member of the UN Global Compact, Bonsucro is a global non-profit organization that provides certification of a sustainable, consistent sugarcane supply chain. Bonsucro certifies 72M tons of sugarcane annually, amongst its 250 members in over 50 countries. Because Bonsucro measures the production and chain of custody of all its members’ sugarcane, sustainability can be certified at every step from the farm to the mill. This accountability drives a reduction in greenhouse gas emission, diesel consumption, rates of accidents, and number of fines related to health and safety. Not only does Bonsucro care for the environment, but there is a high priority placed on the welfare of farming communities. Join the first installment of the three-part Beauty Renaissance Series featuring Rafael Seixas, the Member Manager of Bonsucro and leaders from Aprinnova.
